WMC is a family owned U.S. corporation. We started producing welded wire mesh in 2003 with the inception of our first mill in Jacksonville, Florida. Four years later we opened our second mill in Oglesby Illinois. Hard work and an aggressive strategic growth plan allowed us to open our third mill in Lathrop California in 2009. Although we were then able to provide our quality welded wire to the entire continental United States; our growth plan was not close to completion. We are pleased to say that in January 2012 we opened a new mesh mill in Elkton Maryland. January 2012 was also the inception of a new mill in Houston Texas to manufacture our offering of PC Strand.
With local contractors now spreading their scope of influence across the country, we are able to provide our customer the opportunity to service their customer, as they work all around the United States. No longer should a WMC customer lose wire mesh business when their customer takes a job outside their normal trade area! Customers appreciate the value of being able to do business with a known entity. With WMC customers will be able to continue to enjoy the same quality product and service they are used to getting from their local facility. In addition to having the ability to work with one vendor coast to coast, our strategically located mills insures our customers the prompt service so desperately needed to better manage inventory. The value of having the ability to ship from many different mills is paramount.
In 2010 we were proud to announce we were able to service Engineered Mesh or “Specialty” Mesh requirements. Not all jobs allow the use of standard spacing, traditional sheet size welded wire mesh. We heard our customers request and invested in new specialized machinery in order to provide them the opportunity to sell just about any design or any size anyone could need or imagine.
PC Strand customers know it must be perfect. When exploring this new business unit we understood the best way to insure success and perfect product quality was to invest in the absolute best equipment on the market. That was perfect for us since that is consistent with our basic business model and what we do in every situation. With our mill strategically located in Conroe Texas, we are able to provide superior quality Strand to all of our valued customers across the United States.
